PART 1: PREPARATION BEFORE TAKING THE DLSMHSI ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
As a DLSMHSI student-applicant, you must read carefully the following important reminders before the test. The success of your examination experience depends on your careful compliance with the guidelines and policies set forth herein.
1. Coverage of Entrance Examination
- The Entrance Examination is composed of three hundred (300) items. Forty (40) items in English, forty (40) items in Mathematics, one hundred eighty (180) items in Sciences (which is composed of Biology, Chemistry, General Science, Health Science & Physics), and forty (40) items in Abstract Reasoning.
2. Allowed Testing Device
- You can only take the test using a laptop or desktop with a built-in or detachable webcam and run a Windows OS (version 7 and above). Mobile or smartphones, tablets (eg. iPads, iPods, digital pads, and e-readers), and any IOS devices cannot be used to access the test). For a seamless testing experience, the use of an optical mouse is recommended.
3. Prohibited Activities / Materials
- In case of exhibited (intentional or not) prohibited behaviors and materials observed during the actual test even if not in used, the proctor has the right to terminate your test. (See the list of Prohibited Activities and Materials on Page 3).
Note: You shall receive a message or notification of your flagged violation.
4. Scratch Pad
- You are only allowed to use the following items as your scratch pad during your exam:
Mini whiteboard (A3 or A4 size) with whiteboard marker and eraser
Plastic / paper magic slate
Clear acetate / plastic cover with whiteboard marker and eraser
Plain chalkboard with chalk and eraser
5. Test Preparation
- Online Examinees are required to have a secondary device (e.g., cellphone, webcam, or tablet) to be used for the Zoom video conference. Position the camera at the side or the back of the examinee so that the proctor can clearly see the monitor, the examinee’s hands, and face (refer to the picture below for guidance)."
- Ensure to have a working speaker/headphone/earphone during your Entrance Examination.
- Prepare a Soft Copy of your Grades (even a screenshot from the school portal will do).
Grade 9 / 10 grades (for incoming Senior High)
Grade 11/12 grades (for incoming Undergraduate)
TOR (for incoming Transferee Undergraduate)
- Familiarize yourself with some of the general aspects of testing. We encourage you to log in using the temporary ID number generated upon application. Watch also the attached video for the Practice Exam and take the Practice Exam, which you can access before your actual Entrance Examination. Please see the difference between the Practice Exam and the actual Entrance Examination:
- The Practice Exam and actual Entrance Examination Question can be accessed until your examination date only (Timings are as per Asia / Manila timezone, please ensure the date and time in your timezone).
6. Connectivity and Test Environment
- At all times, a stable and continuous internet connection is highly recommended. Unstable connectivity, and/or hotspots may impede the responsiveness of your online assessment.
Note: The DLSMHSI shall not be responsible, in any manner/form, if your exam/answers are compromised due to poor connectivity.
- Should you encounter disconnection problems in the middle of the test, your answers are automatically saved. You shall either be reconnected automatically (if the connection is gained within a minute).
- In case the test window closes in the middle of the test or at the time of submission for any reason, you can just resume your test by re-logging in our exam.
- Disconnection by cases of power outdated, computer malfunction, or internet disconnection that would take a long to resolve to catch up to the time allotted, warrants the applicant to request for a reschedule of the exam. A rescheduling fee of five hundred pesos (500.00 Php) shall be paid by the applicant (see the last page for the contact details).
7. Software, Hardware, and Internet Speed Requirements
7.1. Software
a. Zoom – Examinees must download and install the latest Zoom App before the date of Examination.

7.2. Hardware

PART 2: PREPARATION DURING THE DLSMHSI ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
1. Preparation before getting Online
- You are required to be online at least thirty (30) minutes before your scheduled exam.
- The actual Entrance Examination questions can only be accessed on the date/time of your exam. Examinees are given not more than three (3) minutes to finish each question, but the exam can be taken for a maximum of four (4) hours only.
- You are required to attend our Online Orientation thirty (30) minutes before your exam.
- You are required to turn on your webcam and your speakers for the whole duration of your Entrance Examination. Your actual test session shall be monitored live by a proctor during your Entrance Examination. You shall get real-time messages and/or announcements from the proctor.
- Prepare your Scratch Pad and any valid ID (Student ID, Passport, Voter’s ID, or any ID with a picture). The Proctor shall check you individually during the exam & they shall request you to show your ID using your webcam.
2. Start of Entrance Examination
a. Click the link of “Zoom Cloud Meeting” on the link we provided in your applicants' portal, You are required to change your Zoom Name to your Full Name upon signing in to our Zoom Meeting.
b. Please take note of the following when you open our DLSMHSI Entrance Examination:
i. You are not allowed to open other windows/browsers/software, etc. anymore.
ii. You cannot continue to your Online Entrance Examination if you close your camera or log out/disconnect from your Zoom Meeting.
iii. If you accidentally close the DLSMHSI College Admission Test / Lasallian Admission Test, just immediately log in again to your applicant's portal.
iv. Automated time for the Entrance Examination starts and ends on the date and time indicated on your examination permit.
3. Prohibited Activities during Entrance Examination
- Failing to provide acceptable identification.
- Not opening the Zoom camera during the Entrance Examination. A warning message from the exam proctor/s shall received. If the applicant is still not responding, TRASTS shall immediately dismiss you from your test sessions.
- Attempting to take the test for someone else or having someone else take the test for you at any stage of the examination.
- Coaching of answers or attempting to receive assistance from another person – communication in any form is not permitted during the online examination.
- Obtaining improper access to the test, a part of the test, or information about the test. This includes having test questions or answers in advance of the test administration and bringing pre-knowledge of test information into the online session in any form including but not limited to identification documents, clothing, prohibited devices, and any other method listed as aid in connection to the test.
- Removing, copying, or attempting to remove/copy/duplicate any test content from the assessment platform. Under no circumstances may test content or any part of the test content be removed, reproduced, and or disclosed by any means (e.g. hard copy, verbally, electrically) to any person or entity.
- Referring to, looking through, or working on any test, or test section, when not authorized to do so.
The Registrar - Admissions, Scholarships, and Testing Section (TRASTS) personnel are authorized to dismiss you from a test session, and/or your scores may be withheld and ultimately canceled for any actions that violate the policies and guidelines set forth herein and/or communicated by the Proctor.
4. Prohibited Materials
- Using or having any of the following materials in the testing room is prohibited. Please clear your table or test space before the test session.
Phones (all kinds)
Tablets and e-readers
Calculators
All wearable technology
All watches
Any other electronic, recording, listening, scanning, printing, or photographic devices
Pagers or beepers
Digital storage devices
Mechanical pencils, mechanical erasers, highlighters, compasses, rules, protractors
Mirrors (of any kind)
Books, pamphlets, notes, dictionaries, translators
Unauthorized materials for scratch work
Scan pends or scanning devices
5. Proper attire during the Entrance Examination
- Keep in mind that your Entrance Examination is monitored live by a proctor, please observe proper attire during the test. For females, avoid provocative and sleeveless outfits (e.g. short shorts, tank tops, tube tops), sleepwear/pajamas, and long-sleeve tops; for males, avoid wearing sando, long-sleeved shirts, and attempting to take the test half-naked. T-shirts and pants or decent-length shorts are acceptable.
PART 3: AFTER EXAMINATION
After answering the last question on your Entrance Examination, please proceed to the "Enrollment Dashboard" in your applicant's portal for you to see your Entrance Exam score, and link for your next step (Interview).
