The name of this organization shall be the Northern Middle Schools Athletic Association.
It shall be the purpose of this organization to develop wholesome activities for the member schools; to establish continuity within the organization; to schedule activities.
Membership in this organization shall be optional and shall consist of the following schools: Blackfeet Boarding Dorm, Browning, Choteau, Conrad, Cut Bank, De La Salle, East Glacier, Fairfield, Havre, Rocky Boy and Shelby.
Other middle schools may become members by participating for the entire school year as voted by a simple majority vote of the above listed schools in section I, Article III. The Blackfeet Boarding Dorm has been grand-fathered in to the NMSAA membership as a separate entity and not as a school.
Any member district of the NMSAA that is not represented at NMSAA meetings can be removed from the association by a majority vote of the membership.
The president (elected) shall call for and preside over all meetings.
The secretary-treasurer (elected) shall keep the minutes of all meetings, distribute such minutes to all member schools, and be in charge of divisional finances.
Term of office for all offices shall extend through the present school year. The annual election of officers shall be held at the last spring meeting.

A fall meeting shall be held prior to girls' basketball tournament. A winter meeting shall be held prior to boys' basketball tournament. A mid-winter meeting will be held prior to the girls' volleyball tournament. A spring meeting will be held to do scheduling for the upcoming year. Each meeting will be held at an hour and place to be designated by the president. Any member school district that is not represented at these meetings/or has not made other arrangements for not being represented can be removed from the association by a majority vote of the membership.
Special meetings may be called by the president.
Association meetings shall be open to all administrators and appropriate personnel of member schools. All such persons shall have a right to the floor for discussion. Voting rights and the making of motions are reserved to the administrator of each member school or his/her designated representative, one vote per school.
Changes in the constitution may be made by a simple majority of the member schools present at a regularly scheduled fall, winter I, winter II or spring meeting.
