KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING and HIGHER-ORDER THINKING SKILLS
Cambridge programmes combine an emphasis on mastering subjects in depth with the development of skills for study and work in the future. We value deep subject knowledge as well as the conceptual understanding that helps students make links between different aspects of a subject. We also encourage students to develop higher-order thinking skills - problem-solving, critical thinking, independent research, collaboration and presenting arguments. These are transferable skills that will last a lifetime, preparing students for their future lives. They also make learning enjoyable and rewarding.
Cambridge Pathway students have the chance to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to achieve at school, university and beyond.
The two stages lead seamlessly from primary to secondary. Each stage – Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary – builds on the learners’ development from the previous one, but can also be offered separately.
Five elements lie at the heart of a Cambridge education: international curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, international recognition and global community.
We have been following the curriculum as developed by Cambridge International Education and selected the best 5 that suits our context, culture and ethos, and that can tailor to their students’ needs.
We design our assessments to be fair, valid, reliable and practicable. We assess what we know to be of value: deep subject knowledge, conceptual understanding, and higher level thinking skills. Our flexible assessment structure maximises time for teaching and learning.
Our qualifications are widely recognised by universities and employers. Cambridge students can be confident that their qualifications will be understood and valued throughout their education and career, in their home country and internationally.
Cambridge schools belong to a worldwide education community. We support students for various international projects and collaborations along with professional learning communities which connect students around the world so that can share views, information and resources, and learn from one another.
