STAR Program

Self-Control

Take Responsibility

Positive Attitude

Show Respect

Each letter of the word STAR represents a behavior that sixth graders are expected to demonstrate at Riverdale. As the oldest students at our school, students are expected to be a good example for others. Sixth graders set the tone for Riverdale and are expected to be models of good character and leadership. Some students will earn the opportunity to take on more responsibility like leading assemblies, putting up the flag, and assisting teachers and the principal.

Students who demonstrate the expected behaviors each day may earn special privileges and rewards like the opportunity to bring a healthy snack to school, drinking flavored water, drawing after completing assignments just to name a few.

Students who NEVER LOSE their stars throughout the week will earn a special activity on Fridays!
