Support is out there to help you succeed in school, college, and at work. Here are some programs and services you should know about:

💼 WorkAbility

• Job skills training

• Paid or unpaid work experience

• Resume + interview practice

• Support with planning life after high school

Goal: Get real-world skills for your future career.

🏢 Department of Rehabilitation (DOR)

• Career counseling and guidance

• Help with finding and keeping a job

• College or vocational training support

• Assistive technology and accommodations

Goal: Prepare for and succeed in work or college.

📘 504 Plans

• Extra time on tests/assignments

• Preferential seating

• Assistive technology

• Modified classroom materials

Goal: Remove barriers so you can fully access your classes.

📑 Individualized Education Program (IEP)

• Specialized instruction

• Speech, occupational, or physical therapy

• Transition planning for life after high school

• Measurable goals and progress checks

Goal: Provide individualized support to help you reach your learning goals.

🎓 In College

• No IEP or 504 Plan in college

• You request help through the Disability Services Office

• Supports may include:

  • Priority registration

  • Note-taking or testing accommodations

  • Accessible materials

Goal: Make sure you have equal access in college classes.

🏢 At Work

• The ADA protects your right to ask for “reasonable accommodations”

• Examples:
