Makerspace Apprenticeship Pathway
Maker Initiate: Everyone starts here. Ask a Knight or Maker to show you how to use a tool first, then have them supervise your first use. After completing a task with supervision, initiates advance to the rank of Maker Padawan.
Maker Padawan: Padawan may set up a job independently, but must have a Knight or Maker review their work before executing. After three successful trials in a specific skill, a padawan advances to the rank of Maker Knight.
Maker: Makers may operate equipment independently.
If a Maker has shown exemplary skill, demonstrated deep knowledge of equipment, and successfully trained an apprentice, they may be granted the title of Maker Knight.
Maker Knight: A Knight's ultimate goal is to be a positive force in the Makerspace and to expand the influence of the Maker Order. What separates a Maker Knight is that their exceptional achievements and experience make them uniquely qualified to teach the “younger” members of the Makerspace. The rank of Maker Knight may only be granted by Mr. Glantz
