Mexican Train Privacy Policy

Mexican Train is a scorekeeping application designed to help players track scores, standings, rounds, and game history while playing Mexican Train dominoes.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Mexican Train collects, how that information is used, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

Mexican Train collects a limited amount of information necessary to provide the application's scorekeeping and game-management features.

Player Names

When setting up a game, users enter a name for each player.

The name may be a first name, nickname, initials, or another label of the user's choosing. Players are not required to provide their legal or actual names.

Player names are used only to identify participants within a game and to display scores, standings, game history, and game results.

Gameplay Information

Mexican Train stores gameplay information necessary to provide its scorekeeping functionality.

This information may include:

• Player names or nicknames

• Game identifiers

• Starting double and selected rounds

• Round scores

• Completed and skipped rounds

• Running totals

• Player standings

• Current game status

• Game history

• Final game results

This information allows Mexican Train to maintain game state, restore unfinished games, calculate standings, display game history, and present final game results.

How We Use Information

Information collected by Mexican Train is used solely to provide and maintain the application's functionality.

Mexican Train does not use player names or gameplay information for advertising, marketing, behavioral profiling, or tracking users across applications or websites.

Mexican Train does not sell user information.

Accounts and User Identity

Mexican Train does not require users to create an account or sign in.

Player names are not verified and do not need to represent a person's actual identity.

Mexican Train does not intentionally associate player names or gameplay information with an Apple ID, email address, advertising identifier, or user account.

Data Storage and Service Providers

Mexican Train uses Google Apps Script and Google Sheets infrastructure to process and store game information.

Player names and gameplay information may therefore be transmitted to and stored using Google services as necessary to provide Mexican Train's game-management functionality.

Mexican Train does not authorize service providers to use this information for advertising or tracking on behalf of Mexican Train.

Advertising and Tracking

Mexican Train does not contain third-party advertising.

Mexican Train does not use player names or gameplay information to track users across applications or websites.

Mexican Train does not use collected information for targeted advertising.

Data Retention and Deletion

Gameplay information may be retained to provide game restoration and Game History functionality.

Users may request deletion of stored game information by contacting Mexican Train App Support at jmeek@djmedu.org.

Because Mexican Train does not require user accounts and player names do not need to be actual names, it may not always be possible to determine which stored game information belongs to a particular individual.

When requesting deletion, users should provide sufficient information to identify the game or gameplay information they would like deleted.

Children's Privacy

Mexican Train is a general-purpose scorekeeping application and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

Users should avoid entering sensitive personal information as player names. A first name, nickname, initials, or other non-identifying label may be used instead.

Data Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information processed by Mexican Train.

However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes to Mexican Train's functionality, data practices, service providers, or applicable requirements.

When the policy is updated, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
