EmbroViewer Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 23, 2026
Thank you for using EmbroViewer ("we," "us," "our," or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information when you use it. Please read it carefully. By using EmbroViewer, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Introduction
EmbroViewer is a mobile application that lets you view, analyze, and simulate machine-embroidery design files (such as DST, PES, JEF, EXP, and other supported formats) directly on your device. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
EmbroViewer is designed to be offline-first and privacy-focused. We do not operate our own servers to collect, store, or process your personal data.
2.1 Information You Provide / Files You Open
Embroidery design files: When you import, open, or share an embroidery file into the App, the file is read and processed entirely on your device. Your design files are never uploaded to us or to any third party. They remain stored locally on your device unless you choose to share or export them yourself.
Files opened from other apps: If you open an embroidery file from a file manager, messaging app (e.g., Telegram, WhatsApp), or email, the App receives that file only to display and analyze it locally.
2.2 Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions, only when needed, to provide specific features:
Storage / Files: To let you select and import embroidery files from your device. Access is used solely to read the file you choose.
Camera: Used only if you choose the "live camera background" option in the Realistic Preview feature. Camera images are shown live on your screen and are not recorded, saved, or transmitted by the App.
Photos / Media: Used only if you choose to pick a photo as a preview background. The selected photo is used locally for the preview and is not uploaded.
You may grant or deny these permissions at any time through your device settings. Denying a permission may limit the related feature but will not affect core functionality.
2.3 Locally Stored Data
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
Imported design records, generated thumbnails, and parsed geometry (cache).
App preferences (such as your selected theme).
You can clear all of this at any time from Settings → Storage → Clear.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
EmbroViewer displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and use certain information, which may include:
Advertising identifier (such as the Android Advertising ID / AAID or Apple's IDFA).
Device information (such as device model, operating system, language, and general location inferred from IP address).
Ad interaction data (such as ads shown, taps, and app usage related to ads).
This information may be used to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. Google may act as an independent data controller for this data.
To learn how Google uses this data, please see Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
For information on Google AdMob and partner data practices, see: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
Your choices:
You can reset or limit ad tracking using your device settings:
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization."
iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising.
Where required by law, the App will ask for your consent before showing personalized ads.
4. Analytics and Other Third-Party Services
The App may use standard mobile-platform services that operate on your device or through the app store, including:
Google Play In-App Update / In-App Review and the equivalent Apple services, used to notify you of updates and to optionally request a rating. These are handled by Google Play / the App Store and are subject to their respective privacy policies.
Any information processed by these services is governed by the privacy policies of Google and Apple.
5. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
Provide the App's core features (viewing, analyzing, and simulating embroidery files).
Display advertising through Google AdMob.
Maintain and improve app stability (e.g., updates and reviews via the app store).
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:
With Google AdMob and its ad partners, as described in Section 3, for the purpose of serving advertisements.
With Google Play / Apple App Store, for update and review functionality.
When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
Your embroidery design files are never shared by us.
7. Children's Privacy
EmbroViewer is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action. Advertising shown in the App is configured to comply with applicable requirements for general-audience apps.
8. Data Security
Because your design files and app data are processed and stored locally on your device, their security depends largely on your device's own security (such as your screen lock and OS protections). We take reasonable measures within the App to protect data it handles, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to opt out of personalized advertising. Since EmbroViewer stores data locally and does not maintain user accounts on our servers, you can exercise most of these rights directly by:
Clearing app data from Settings → Storage → Clear.
Adjusting ad and permission settings on your device.
Uninstalling the App, which removes all locally stored data.
For requests related to advertising data collected by Google, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
10. International Users
The App can be used worldwide. Advertising and app-store services (Google, Apple) may process data in countries other than your own, in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
