In light of recent advancements in technology, especially in domains like artificial intelligence and machine learning, most of the gadgets people use in their day-to-day life appear not to be used to their full potential, and mobile devices are no exception. Currently, the simplest and most common usage of activity recognition on phones is represented by fitness applications, especially running tracking, a simple search on the Play Store offering tens of choices. Recently, given the whole uncertainty surrounding the security and privacy of user data, steps have been taken towards using activity recognition for user authentication.
