CLASSROOM RULES
1. Always arrive on time, be prepared, and be properly dressed
2. Always be polite, have a positive attitude, and show respect
3. Always listen to/follow directions and be safe
4. Always try your best and be a team player
5. Always bring water bottle to hydrate
DRESSING POLICY
Students should have appropriate clothes to wear to be able to do physical activities in class.
Student need to have shoes for class (No sandals, crocs, dress shoes, etc)
Students might also like to have a sweatshirt & pants for outdoor participation in cooler weather only
Consequences For Being Unprepared (Lacking 1 or more required items)
After 5th Offense = Email or phone call home
After 8th Offense = Phone call home & conference with administration
10th Offense = 3 in Effort on report card
HALLWAY PROCEDURES
• Students must ask for permission to leave the class
• Only one student is allowed out of class at a time
GRADING/OBJECTIVES
Studnets are Graded in Three Categories
Movement Skills (Class Participation INCLUDING APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR)
Student engages with class activities with an appropriate amount of effort
Student is wearing clothing conducive to physical activity including gym shoes
Physical Fitness (Engagement in fitness based activities)
Student engages in fitness based activities and exercises to the best of their ability with a reasonable amount of effort in an attempt to improve their overall fitness levels
Team Building (Sportsmanship and behavior)
Student demonstrates a positive attitude toward activities
Student demonstrates sportsmanship and respect toward their classmates and teachers
Conduct (Behavior during class)
1 = Consistently demonstrating positive behavior
2 = One to three days demonstrating disruptive/unsportsmanlike behavior
3 = Four or more days demonstrating disruptive/unsportsmanlike behavior
Effort (Prepared for class)
1 = Consistently prepared for class and actively participating
2 = One to nine days unprepared/not participating
3 = Ten or more days unprepared/not participating
ABSENCE POLICY
Written assignments may be given after a total of 3 days absent/non-participation from class
INJURY PROCEDURES
Minor Injuries
These will be handled by the teacher or school health aide.
Temporary Injuries
All notes from parents and doctors must go through the school nurse.
Extended Injuries
A doctor’s note must be submitted to the school health aide for injuries requiring
more than 3 days out of Physical Education class.
MEDICAL NEEDS
All medical concerns should be submitted to the school health aide.
Parents are encouraged to call and further explain any medical conditions. Students who require an inhaler must bring it everyday to P.E. class.
CONSEQUENCES WILL BE GIVEN FOR FAILURE TO
FOLLOW ANY CLASS POLICY/PROCEDURE
