Hello and Happy Fall! I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather like I am! On Wednesday we journaled and shared our favorite season....and the only one no one mentioned was Spring!
I will try to blog every Friday, if not more often. I know sometimes its hard to get your children to let you know what's going on every day! This week we welcomed two fish to our classroom community; Moonie and Pumba! I may get a chance to add a couple more very soon! We finished our nutrition unit with Little D and ended the week making mobiles to show the five food groups. The very bottom white cards are part of their assessment, so if they aren't in the correct place, I'm aware of that! ;)
Next week is Homecoming, and we will have special dress up days to celebrate. Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Beach Bum Day, Wednesday is Sports Day, and Thursday is Husky Pride Day!
We will start Walk to Read next week! The team got our groups together and are looking forward to getting started! I will also be introducing literacy centers and math workshop in the afternoon. I always like this time when we finally start moving into routines.
Our first reading theme starts on Monday, and we will begin doing spelling. I will give them a pretest on Monday, and if they get them all right they won't have to take the test Friday.
Friday is AT HOME Learning Day and your child will be bringing home a folder with a checklist and all the things they will need to do for the day. I will send out another blog next week to describe more of the learning day!
Have a great weekend!!
