* vocabulary and word recall tasks; antonyms (opposites), synonyms (similar word), multiple meaning words, and categorization activities
* listening comprehension activities; identify an item that doesn't belong, summarize/answer questions from a story, repeat instructions, and correctly follow directions
* social interaction practice; initiate, maintain, and end conversations, along with eye contact and other relational skills
* learning or practicing idioms/proverbs, metaphors, or social slang
* expressive language tasks: make logical inferences, explain solutions to problems, identify fact/opinion, and make predictions
* grammar skills; plurals (horses, fish), copular verbs (is/are/was/were), articles (a/an/the), comparatives (better, best), regular & irregular verb tenses (will eat, eating, ate)
* critical thinking activities; (comparing and contrasting items, inferencing & predicting outcomes, identifying & solving problem scenarios, summarizing short stories, and recall of auditory information)
