Home Coming respresentatives from the high school visited our class.  They read us a story, enjoyed some laughs, and shared a little bit about being a student at the high school.  

Our class learned about bus safety.  We praciticed how to safely evacuate out the back door of the bus, and then got to have a litte drive around the block in the bus.  Thank you 4.0.

Our class read, How Full Is Your Bucket? For Kids,  We learned how our words and actions can affect one another; how they can make people feel good (fill their bucket) or hurt them (dip their bucket).  We have a classroom bucket that we are working to fill.  Our class will add a little purple paw every time we work together in a kind, repsectful, and safe way.  We have already earned some for walking in the hall, working at stations, and cleaning together after free choice.  Everytime our class fills the bucket we will choose a classroom reward.  

Some great questions to ask your child after school are as follows:

Who filled your bucket today?  What did that person do/say?

Whose bucket did you fill today? How did you do it?  

How does it feel to help someone else fill their bucket?

How full in your bucket today?  Tell me why.

On Friday, our class read some groovy Pete the Cat books! Pete even left clues around the school for us to follow.  We looked far and wide and never found Pete.  However, he did leave us a little stuffy and some coloring pages.  Along the way, our class got to meet the important people in our school and learn about the different spaces we use in our school.
