What a School Social Worker Offers:

Today's students face many social and emotional problems that interfere with their ability to do well in school and inhibit their progress toward becoming happy, successful and productive citizens.


Children are affected by what is going on around them and depending on environment and experiences can have difficulty completing their school work, sustaining relationships, and processing feelings in a positive way. School social workers are a link between home, school, and the community. We work with students, parents, and teachers go nurture school success. A major goal is to help reduce problems and obstacles that interfere with a student's learning. School social workers primarily


School social workers also work with families to find the with in the community resources they may need; including food, housing, medical care, clothing, counseling, domestic abuse support, and many others. If your family needs something reach out.


Students may benefit from ongoing or short term support for a variety of reasons (see list below). Social Work time is during school hours, in small groups or individually, depending on need.

Hello; My Name is Courtney Hubred I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW). This is my second year at Albany Elementary School. I work mainly with grades 3-5 students and teach the SEL classes to K-5 classes. Prior to attaining my MSW from Augsburg University; I worked as a school social worker for four years at a K-12 school in Randolph, MN.
