About Me

I am excited to join Oakton Elementary as the school librarian. Before this I was the Dr. Bessie Rhodes School Librarian for 18 years and 3 years in Highland Park.

 I believe I have one of the best jobs in the school. I work with the community to appreciate books and use information wisely. My Masters in Library and Information Science is from the University of Illinois in 2005 (go Illini!) and my Bachelors from Miami University, Ohio.

My family and I live in Evanston and all three of my sons graduated from D65 and ETHS. I love the beaches of Evanston and being close to Chicago. I love spending time with my family, reading, working in my garden, and cooking.

In the picture to the left, I am in India in July 2017. I visited India as a fellow of Teachers for Global Classrooms. It was an amazing experience that I hope to share with our students.
