Nichols Middle School Athletics

Dear Nichols Middle School Families,

We are excited to welcome our Nichols students and families to another outstanding year of athletics! This school year marks an important milestone as Nichols Middle School continues to expand opportunities for our student-athletes through the District 65 IESA/Sports Conference.

For the first time, Nichols student-athletes will have the opportunity to compete in the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State Series across multiple sports. Participation in the IESA provides our students with the opportunity to compete beyond the regular season by advancing to regional, sectional, and state-level competition while representing Nichols Middle School and District 65 with pride.

During the 2026–2027 school year, Nichols Middle School student-athletes will compete in the IESA postseason series in the following sports:

• Boys' Cross Country

• Girls' Cross Country

• Girls' Basketball

• Boys' Basketball

• Girls' Volleyball

• Boys' Track & Field

• Girls' Track & Field

Joining the IESA State Series is an exciting step forward for Nichols Athletics. It provides our student-athletes with additional opportunities to develop their athletic skills, compete against schools from across Illinois, and experience the excitement of postseason competition while learning valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, perseverance, and school pride.

At District 65, we believe athletics are an extension of the classroom. Through participation in interscholastic sports, our students build confidence, strengthen friendships, develop leadership skills, and create lifelong memories while representing their school and community with integrity.

We are incredibly excited about the future of Nichols Athletics and look forward to cheering on our student-athletes throughout the upcoming cross country, basketball, volleyball, and track and field seasons. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to provide exceptional athletic experiences for every student.
