Reading Programs

Bibliomania

4th and 5th grade students are challenged to read off a list of 10 books and complete projects for rewards and recognitions. Students can choose to add 2 books to their reading of their choice. Students are participating in a social reading experience that is embedded into the curriculum.

Maker Madness

Reading and Making go hand in hand. A variety of books have been selected as Maker Madness books. When a student checks out one of those books, they will receive a kit to take home to build, invent, and create with based on that book. The student reads the book and follows the directions in the kit. They keep the creation and return the book. Most materials needed will be household materials.

Summer Reading Program

The D65 Librarians curate a fabulous list of books each summer and challenge students to read over the summer. The program partners with EPL to put on exciting events throughout the summer; Read-a-Louds and Maker Madness events.
