Author Bio

Author Kelly Yang immigrated to America when she was six years old. Living in California, she and her family worked in various motels. She went to college at the age of thirteen and started law school at the age of seventeen. To date, she has attended UC Berkeley and Harvard Law School. Soon after finishing law school, Kelly realized that her true passion was writing and teaching kids about writing. She quickly became a writing teacher and founded The Kelly Yang Project, an writing and debate program for children in Asia. 

She is the author of beloved books such as Front Desk, Three Keys, and New From Here. Her books have earned several awards and she continues to write and inspire children through her work.
