According to the Oxford Dictionary, cosplay is the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga and anime. It's a form of expression and connection to a particular character.
If you are interested in cosplay but not ready to compete, you are more than welcome to dress, but you still need to follow the dress code below. If you want to compete, please read through the expectations and guidelines. You are welcome to compete as a group as long as the characters are connected.
1. You must sign up to participate.
2. You must provide a colored picture of your character for the judges.
3. You don't need to do a performance, but bringing your character to life will be judged (walking, talking, posing).
4. Read and follow the dress guidelines! You will be asked to leave if you do not adhere to the dress code.
5. Parts of your costume need to be homemade or modified.
6. Be in the Forum room by 3:25 for instructions.
Absolutely no weapons will be permitted, regardless of material, color, etc.
Costumes must be G-rated.
Skirts, dresses, and shorts must come down to your fingertips
Footwear must be worn at all times
Halter tops, spaghetti straps, exposed backs or midriffs, and see-through garments will not be permitted.
Masks may not cover your face.
