Hello, WOIS Families!
We cannot wait to see our students next week! Tuesday is a big day as we welcome students and families back to West Oak Intermediate for Meet and Greet Night from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, visit their classrooms, and drop off their school supplies to help get ready for the first day of school. We invite you to come early at 3:30 p.m. to join us for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating our new and improved playground! We’ll have music, Kona Ice, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and lots of fun. Most importantly, we are counting down to the first day of the 2026–2027 school year on Thursday, August 20th!
We are also excited to welcome some new members to our Wolfpack! Please join us in welcoming:
Kayla Rodriguez – Administrative Assistant
Kaylie Piggott – Case Manager
Kaitlyn Madderom – 5th Grade Teacher
Nancy Córdova – 3rd Grade Dual Language Teacher
We are so excited to have them join our team and cannot wait for our students and families to get to know them!
See you next week, Wolfpack! 🐺✨

Principal

Breakfast/Lunch: As we welcome our students back for another exciting school year, we wanted to remind you you that Diamond Lake School District 76 participates in the ISBE Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, which means all students receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, every school day, regardless of household income. No application is required, every enrolled student is automatically eligible. Also, our monthly food service menus, along with nutrition data, can be found on our district website. For August, those menus can be found HERE. We're also committed to supporting our students' overall health and wellbeing. Our District Wellness Policy outlines how we approach nutrition, physical activity, and healthy habits across our schools. You can read the full policy HERE. Thank you for being such an important part of the Diamond Lake community. We look forward to a great year ahead!
Extracurricular Activities: There will be several after extracurricular activities taking place during lunch/recess and after school available for students starting in late September. More information and sign ups will be coming soon.
Band and Choir will also be available for 5th graders who sign up. While Band and Choir are considered a daily class, they will happen after the school day, and students will take their assigned bus at 3:25 along with the middle school students. Families can also choose to pick up their students from Band and Choir. Please keep an eye out for permission slips to join Band and/or Choir. Band and Choir start for 5th graders in mid-September.
