Dear Diamond Lake School Families,
It was a busy and exciting week here at DLS! We celebrated the 100th Day of School and World Read Aloud Day, and our students did a wonderful job participating and showing their love of learning.
📈 Attendance Celebration
Attendance this week was amazing—we had over 92% of our students present each day! Our next goal is 95% daily attendance, and we’re working toward reaching that together next week. Please reach out if you have any questions or need support getting your student to school—we are here to help and partner with you.
5Essentials Survey
We Need Your Voice! The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is now open, and we need your input. This survey gives families the opportunity to share feedback about our school’s learning environment, communication, and overall experience. The results help guide school improvement and ensure family voices are part of our decision-making.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey—your participation truly matters and helps us continue growing as a school community. The QR Code below will lead you to the link. You can then fill out the raffle ticket for an opportunity to get a dinner delivery from the principal.
📅 Looking Ahead to Next Week
February 12th is the 2nd grade concert at 6:00 pm.
Report cards will be distributed on Friday.
Friday is an Early Release Day, and students will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m.
Friday is also Valentine’s Day. Teachers have shared information with families about how each class will celebrate being good friends.
🧮 Save the Date – March 4
Please save the date for March 4! We will be hosting a school-day math event, and families will be invited to join their students in engaging math activities. More details will be coming soon.
Thank you for another great week and for your continued support of our DLS community!
Every day at DLS matters!
Keep shining and #SparkleOn,
Mrs. Sunny Morley

100th Day Celebration
On Monday, we celebrated 100 day of PAW-Some Learning. Our students are 100 days smarter and we are so proud!
Community Readers
On Wednesday, we had members of the community come in and read to DLS. We loved having a variety of members join us for World Read Aloud Day.
In January we worked hard to earn Flashlight Friday. Here are some photos from our fun way to celebrate our great behavior.
We want to share a quick update regarding our lunch menu. At this time, there is a temporary shortage of SunButter and jelly sandwiches due to a supplier issue.
Whitson’s is actively working with their supplier to resolve the shortage as quickly as possible. During this time, we will continue to ensure that other sandwich options and vegetarian choices are available for students each day so all students have a lunch option that meets their needs.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We will share updates as soon as the SunButter and jelly sandwiches are available again.
Recognize a staff member HERE. This is where we will recognize a Diamond Award winner from your nominations.
Dear D76 Community,
I have some bittersweet news to share. After much thought, I have made the decision to step back from my work so I can be home with my family.
I have truly loved my time at Diamond Lake School and am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as your nurse. Being part of this school community has meant more to me than I can put into words. The families, students, and colleagues here have been such a joy, and I will miss you all greatly.
Thank you for the support, kindness, and memories I will carry with me.
With sincere appreciation,
Alyssa King
