Dear West Oak Intermediate Families,
We’ve had another wonderful week at school, and we are especially grateful for Mr. Ruben, who works tirelessly to keep our facilities clean, organized, and safe for all students and staff. Please join us in congratulating him on receiving the Diamond Edge Award this week—an honor that is so well deserved!
Looking ahead, we want to share that next week we will be practicing both a fire drill and a hard lockdown drill. Our fire drill will take place on Thursday, and our hard lockdown drill will be on Friday. Safety is always a top priority, and these practice drills help ensure that students and staff know what to do in an emergency. We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of practicing these drills and how they help keep us all safe. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) provides excellent resources to guide families in creating and practicing home safety plans with children. You can access these resources by clicking HERE.
Finally, please remember that next week will be a short week. There is no school on Monday or Tuesday. We hope you enjoy the extra time with your families, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Wednesday. Let's aim for a perfect attendance day on Wednesday, Wolfpack!
Sincerely,
Natalie Kalette
Principal
West Oak Intermediate School

Students found a tiny cricket friend at recess!
Mr. Ruben played a fun game of soccer with 4th and 5th graders out at recess. Congratulations on earning the Diamond Edge Award this week, Mr. Ruben!
Students loved the new strawberry banana smoothies they tried at breakfast!
Children thrive when they know school and home are working together. A simple way to show this is by checking your child’s backpack or folder each evening. Reviewing teacher notes, homework, or school flyers together shows your child that you value their learning and helps them stay organized and prepared for the next day.
