Dear Diamond Lake School Families,
We hope you’re having a great week! Please remember that there will be no school on Monday, October 13 in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. School will resume on Tuesday, October 14.
🌟 Attendance Fact: Did you know that regular attendance has a direct impact on student success? Our school’s average daily attendance for September was 87.8%. While this shows that most students are present each day, we know we can do even better! When students attend school consistently, they feel more connected, build stronger friendships, and make greater academic progress.
Picture Day is coming on Thursday, October 16!
You can place your order on mylifetouch.com using your Picture Day ID: EVTT2Z82Q. Order before midnight on Picture Day to get FREE shipping!
Your child can also bring their completed flyer with cash or check on Picture Day. Orders after Picture Day must be placed online only on mylifetouch.com .
Every day at DLS matters!
Keep shining and #SparkleOn,
Mrs. Sunny Morley

IMPORTANT DATE APPROACHES
Health Physical Requirements – Exclusion Date October 15, 2025
Illinois law requires that all students entering Preschool, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and any student new to Illinois schools have a current physical examination and up-to-date immunization records on file.
All required health documentation must be submitted to the school by Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Students who do not have a completed physical exam and immunization record on file by this date are subject to school exclusion and will not be allowed to attend until the required forms are received.
Please schedule any needed appointments as soon as possible and submit forms to the school office. If you have questions or need assistance accessing health services, contact our school nurse.
Thank you for helping us keep all students healthy and ready to learn!
BPAC Meeting: Our next D76 Bilingual Parent Advisory Council meeting will be on October 23rd from 6-7:00pm. Here is a flyer English/Spanish for more details.

Community Wellness: Join us for a special visit with author and psychologist Doug Bolton at the Community Wellness Fair at 7:00pm on November 6th! He’ll share insights from his new book and lead a conversation on how a student’s community—families, schools, and local partners—can foster wellness and drive academic success. Come learn practical strategies to strengthen belonging, build resilience, and create the supportive networks every learner needs to thrive. Here is a flyer for more information.
SEL Screener: Our students will be participating in a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) screener through FastBridge called SAEBRS. This brief questionnaire helps us better understand how students are doing socially, emotionally, and behaviorally so that we can provide the right supports to help them thrive at school.
D76 CARES: At D76, the well-being of our students and families is our top priority. Understanding the critical role mental health plays in student success, we have launched D76 CARES - a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving access to quality mental health services across our community. D76 CARES stands for Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement, and Support. Treatment services are initially provided free of charge to district families for up to 8 sessions.
