Dear Diamond Lake School Families,
We’re off to a great start this month! Our focus for November is improving attendance. Every day of learning counts — students who attend school regularly build stronger connections with their classmates, gain confidence, and make steady academic progress. To celebrate great attendance, we’ll be handing out Paw Points to students who come to school each day. These points can be used at our Cub Store for fun rewards and prizes. Let’s make November a month of showing up and shining bright!
Our students also earned an All-School Stuffed Animal Day for reaching an incredible 2,000 Paw Points in October! We’ll celebrate this achievement on Friday, November 14, 2025. Students may bring one small stuffed animal to join them for the day. Our Paw Point goal for the month of November was 2,000 points and we have reached that this week alone. We are working on getting a total of 10,000 Paw Points this month to earn Pajama Day along with a stuffed animal at the end of the month.
I also hope to see everyone tonight at our District Día de los Muertos Event from 6 pm to 8pm! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to honor and celebrate culture, family, and tradition.
Every day at DLS matters!
Keep shining and #SparkleOn,
Mrs. Sunny Morley

This fall we welcome back Scholastic Books for our annual Book Fair. During Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 24th and held in the Innovation Center, families will have the opportunity to browse and purchase the great book selections that Scholastic has provided for us. With books in both English and Spanish, Scholastic brings a great array of age appropriate books to motivate children to find a love for reading. Teachers will also be creating wish lists for books that can be purchased and donated to their classrooms.
A new feature that Scholastic is offering this year is called Virtual Wallet. Virtual Wallet is a digital method for families to donate a fixed dollar amount towards a classroom for teachers to purchase books of their choice. More information to come!
Recognize a staff member HERE. This is where we will recognize a Diamond Award winner from your nominations.
Dear Families,
In accordance with Erin’s Law, all Illinois public schools are required to provide age-appropriate lessons each year to help students recognize unsafe situations, understand personal body safety, and know how to seek help from trusted adults. We will be presenting the lesson during the weeks of November 10, 2025 through November 21, 2025.
These lessons are designed to empower students with knowledge and skills to protect themselves. They focus on:
Understanding the difference between safe and unsafe touches
Identifying trusted adults at home and school
Learning how to say “no” and get help when feeling unsafe
Recognizing personal boundaries and respect for others
The lessons are presented in a sensitive, age-appropriate manner by our trained staff and/or approved curriculum resources. Our goal is to ensure students feel safe, supported, and informed.
If you have questions about the content of these lessons, wish to review the materials before they are presented, or do not want your student to participate in this lesson please contact your school social worker by Friday, November 7, 2025:
