I'm a graduate of Prairie Ridge High School! Go Wolves! I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2005. I have my Masters in Literacy Coaching and Instruction from St. Xavier University and a second Masters in Leadership from Concordia University!
I am starting fourth year in STEM and my 17th year at Prairie Grove Elementary! This is also my sixth year as Junior High Co-Athletic Director.
One of my favorite hobbies is sports! I love to be outdoors whenever possible. I still play softball and volleyball throughout the year. But, if you ask I will try any game! I also have a new wave runner that I've been enjoying this summer!
One of my most favorite things to do is spend time with my family. I also love to travel! I have traveled many places throughout the United States. I've taken a cruise to Alaska through the Inside Passage. I have also traveled to Arizona, California, New York, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Texas, Iowa, Hawaii, Tennessee, Florida, North and South Carolina, Nevada, Indiana, and Georgia. Of course I’ve been all over the state of Illinois. Surprisingly, I have played softball in most of these states too! I have recenlty visited Greece and Italy! I have also gone to Spain, Ireland, England, Whales, Scotland, Germany, and Austria! While in Spain, I taught English in an English school. I would love to go explore more of Europe! It was amazing!
I decided to become a teacher after volunteering in an elementary school for volleyball community service hours while playing volleyball at McHenry County College. I love being with children. Children are full of great ideas and have a love for learning new things! I also love to see that moment when children finally understand something and then you can see the "light bulb" shine above their heads! I look forward to seeing many lightbulbs, collaboration, and cooperation this year in STEM!
