Hello! My name is Colleen Barnes and I am so excited to be teaching 6th Grade Social Studies for a third year at PG!

I graduated from Illinois State University in 2023 where I received my Bachelor's Degree in History Social-Sciences Education. I absolutely love learning about history and am so excited I get to share my passion with my students. I am currently attending Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville to earn my Master's Degree in Advanced Teaching Strategies in Curriculum & Instruction.

I was raised in Cary and I am thrilled to be working in such a fantastic community. Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my friends and family, traveling, going on nature walks with my dog, Dante, and reading. 

My goal is to create a supportive classroom where students feel motivated and valued. Here's to a great year at PG!
