A little bit about me.....
I began teaching ELA 25 years ago in Iowa, where I was born and raised. I took a mid-career gap to be a stay at home mom and raise my son and daughter who graduated from d155. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for the last 25 years (and counting.....). My career (so far) has been teaching ELA at the 6th and 7th grade levels, as well as 2 years in MTSS as a reading interventionist.
When I am not in room 702 at PGJH, you can find me shopping, reading, traveling, spending time with my kids and husband, golfing, and enjoying summers spent on my patio/in my backyard.
I am passionate about teaching and creating a classroom culture where all of my students can thrive. The exchange of ideas through valuable discussion is one of my favorite parts of the job! The growth I see in my students from the first day of school to the last, is what constantly reminds me of why I became a teacher - to cheer on my students in each of their own successes! There is nothing better.
