I am a teacher that is getting back into the classroom after staying home with my 4 children. I graduated from NIU in Dekalb in 2002. I taught Kindergarten for 2 years at St. Joseph Catholic School in Elgin. After a move to Chicago, I taught Kindergarten at Alain Locke Charter Academy in Chicago. Following that, I taught First Grade at Old St. Mary's Catholic School in Chicago. I moved down to Southern Illinois and I taught 1 year as a Headstart teacher in Jonesboro. When my youngest child started school, I jumped back in too. I was an Academic tutor at Lake in the Hills for one year.
I started working at Prairie Grove last year as a permanent sub and the soccer coach. I'm so delighted to find that Prairie Grove is a wonderful school with such supportive staff and amazing families that I'm thankful to work with everyday. This year is going to be amazing. Student's grow so much in second grade and we are having an amazing time studying interesting topics, building on skills, and asking those high level questions that keep us digging deeper and dreaming bigger.
When I'm not at school. I'm going on adventures with my children's scout troops and my wonderful family.
