The first grade teachers are using Class Dojo, an online behavior management tool, to help track student’s individual behavior. Class Dojo is a point system. Students earn points for positive behaviors (following directions quickly, helping others, working hard, etc.) and can lose points if they are not following our classroom expectations. These points correlate to a colored behavior chart on your child’s weekly homework sheet so you see how your child is doing in the classroom daily. You can view your child’s daily Dojo report for more specific information on points earned/lost. Students will also get to participate in classroom celebrations if they earn “compliments” as a class in the cafeteria, on the playground, or lined up in the hallway. Students should exhibit SOAR behavior at all times at school.
