DHS Performing
Arts Club
What is so important about the Arts?
As DHS is a STEM school, the Performing Arts Club has received no funding and we are having to do it all by ourselves. As you can guess, putting on plays, running a choir, creating a theatre program, and more is not very cheap, but can be incredibly lucrative with the right backing!
To help educate of the importance of the performing arts on our students and community, here are some quick statistics from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA):
Students engaged in Art education are 3x more likely to receive a Bachelor's Degree!
Arts education allows students to engage in Creative Problem Solving, Cooperative Learning, and Civic Engagement
The Arts throughout the United States funds 5 million jobs and contributes over 870 Billion Dollars to the Economy!
