Advisory

Each day starts with  Advisory

Positive school climate begins with our Advisory Program, which is a daily, structured affective educational program that focuses on assisting middle school students in their social, emotional, and academic development. Advisory teachers serve as advocates; assisting students learn positive peer relationships. During this time students learn communication skills, setting goals, and focus on Life Long Guidelines of Trustworthiness, Truthfulness, Active listening, No Put Downs, and Personal Best.

Lifelong Guidelines and Lifeskills are the focal point of the advisory class. By building on the Lifelong Guidelines and Lifeskills every year, we have established a climate that embraces our mission statement and fosters a positive, cohesive school environment for both students and staff.

We have also incorporated into our Advisory Program “Rachel’s Challenge”.  Our students and staff have embraced “Rachel’s Challenge”, as they take steps toward making a positive legacy through random acts of kindness and compassion.
