Below is the kind of gear you'll typically find at an ultimate uniform supplier. While each supplier has their own twist on what they sell, you're generally going to be looking at the options below (plus some fun extras).
Each of these suppliers will provide their version of a jersey. They'll have short sleeved and long sleeved options, blank options, company designs, and customizable jerseys. They'll usually be made of a microfiber material or something similar, and fairly sweat absorbent. You can get extremely creative with your team's designs!
Ultimate is primarily a spring and summer sport, which means folks need shorts! Most suppliers will have shorts options made of the same material as their jerseys, and shorts options made of water-resistant material similar to other running shorts. Everyone has their own preference. Some suppliers will give you the option to add pockets! You can go for plain designs or be as creative as you want, just like with jerseys.
Nearly every supplier will have at least one kind of hat in stock or available for customization. The most common kind is a flat brimmed five-panel hat, but you can find visors, trucker hats, beanies, and bucket hats if you look hard enough!
Most suppliers also offer something called a sun hoodie or a revolution hoodie (depending on which company you look at). This is a lightweight second layer with a hood, and often a front pocket, and it's made of the same microfiber materials as most jerseys. Again, you can design these nearly however you like, the possibilities are limitless. They make great warm-ups, or great options for different sleeves under your short sleeved jersey.
On an ultimate field, one team wears a dark jersey, and the other wears a light jersey. Reversibles remove the need to bring both styles with you to practices and games, and have the added bonus of being a great way to cool off in the summer. A great investment if you plan to play at leagues or pickup where you might change teams somewhat often.
Everyone carries discs, and pretty much everyone carries some special accessories like tacky gloves, headbands, and more! Each supplier will also have special products that they make in specific ways like windbreakers, training pants, custom designs, etc. DiscNY has a partnership with Discraft that allows folks in the community to order discs at highly discounted rates!
Nearly every uniform supplier will be able to offer some kind of youth or program discount to you if and when you decide to order custom gear! This isn't a hard and fast rule, so buyer beware, but most of the ultimate uniform suppliers are staffed by ultimate folks who want to give back to the community. They also regularly have bargain bin sales! Keep your eyes peeled.
When it comes down to it, all of the companies above will get you what you need. A lot of it comes down to a matter of pricing, ordering procedures, fundraising opportunities, and slight product differences. Where you choose to order is your business, but we can give you a few recommendations and notable differences for each of the above brands.
All brands will allow you to make bulk orders for your team (sometimes at a sizable discount), and many will allow you to do online team stores. These online stores can be setup with your team discount, and password protected, or can be set up as full priced fundraisers for your team, where you get a cut of the proceeds.
