DIS, Dhanmondi

Daffodil International School vouchsafes to much significance to the vernacular language of Bangladesh and celebrates all the national programs of Bangladesh. In order to commemorate the martyrs of the Language Movement in 1952, the school arranged a spectacular rally on road and cultural programs on the last 21 February, which was the International Mother Language Day. The school also celebrated the Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Centuria in this year. Every year the school arranges Science Fairs, Annual Sports, Annual Picnic, Excursions, Cultural Programs, Debate Compititions, Poem Recital Programs etc.

Inter School Bangla Olympiad

Sanjana Banu Rishva, student of DIS EM Dhn, won the first prize in Group B under the Singing category, at the 9th Bangla Olympiad 2020 organised by International Hope School Bangadesh. Annual Sports Day

Daffodil International School (DIS) arranged the ‘Annual Sports 2020’ on January 29th in the permanent campus of DIU (Ashulia). The program started with the march-past with the torch procession by the Chief Guest of morning session Prof. Dr. Kamal, Deen, DIU Permanent campus. Simultaneously the program was inaugurated by releasing balloon and pigeon by the founder Principal and Principal of DIS. After that the regular games started with the assistance of field coordinators and assigned teachers along with participation of the students. In the middle of the session the honorable CEO of Daffodil Family fascinated the day by his presence and photo session. The presence of the chief guest Mr. Nasir Hossain, the formar Captain of national cricket U19 of Bangladesh elevated students’ sportive energy throughout the event. The colorful display of each branch was one of the focal parts of the event. The event concluded with the prize giving ceremony and the promise of better performance in the next year. The Chief guest of the 2nd session appreciated the students.

Celebration of Victory Day

you cannot cage a wild bird and so you cannot cage Bangladesh. It is a country flying high with dreams and thriving to betterment every moment. The biggest fight for the people of a nation is the fight for independence The victory of Bangladesh is a symbol of the immense victory of good against evil. On the morning of 16th December 1971, the sun did shine bright on the land of Bangladesh and the day was greeted with smile and gratification. DIS celebrated Victory Day of 2019 in 15th December to commemorate the victory of the allied forces over the Pakistani forces. The occasion was marked by the enthusiastic participation of the students from Pre-Section, Junior and Senior Section of Daffodil International School. It was a great honor to have valiant freedom fighter Rotarian S.M.Nazimuddin as the chief guest the event. The honorable Principal of DIS Dhaka, Dr Md Mahmudul Hassan and respected Vice Principal of DIS, Dr Md Masudur Rahman also had their valuable presence. They expressed their gratitude towards the participating students, parents, and the teachers and non teaching staff for all their contributions in making this program possible. Members of the Interact Club of Daffodil International School also had their participation in anchoring, volunteering and other aspects to boost up their leadership skills. On the occasion, the school premise was colorfully decorated including songs, dance, drama, and other cultural activities depicting the important aspects of the victory day.

Kids Show and Craft Exhibition 2019

" Today's Kids, Tomorrow's Future"

With this goal, DIS EM DHN Pre-School has arranged their Annual Kids Show and Craft Exhibition 2019 with grand cultural show on October 31 2019, Thursday at it's permanent campus. Kids Show is a visual presentation of what the preschoolers have learnt consisting of both academic and cultural in the first three months of the 2019-20 session. The event looked more graceful with presence of the distinguished guests Professor Dr. SM Mahbubul Haque Mazumder, Pro Vice Chancellor DIU, Md. Nuruzzaman CEO Daffodil Family. Mrs Shahana Khan, Founder Principal DIS, Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hassan Principal DIS Dhaka and Dr. Masudur Rahman Vice Principal and Acafemic Coordinator, Ms. Jenat Jahan also were also present. Pre-School Coordinator, Ms. Dilshat Mainuddin introduced Pre-School to everyone. Dance, songs, rhymes, drama, recitation, the little toddlers set their marks in every aspects of culture. With confidence they introduced themselves infront of everybody. Without any nervousness, with much energy and grace they performed and gained wholehearted praises from all.

Global Hand Wash Day 2019

Are your hands clean? Or are you going to eat without washing your hands?

On that note, DIS EM DHN arranged an educative activity on "Global Handwash Day" among the students from playgroup to grade 3 on 15th October 2019, Tuesday. They have learnt about the importance of clean hands, maintaining hygiene and the diseases that might be cause for using dirty hands. They have learnt ten steps on how to wash hands in the proper way. Students promised to follow these steps regularly and share these lessons with all.

Art Carnival

Daffodil International School (DIS) Art Carnival 2019 was conducted very successfully on Tuesday, September 17 2019. Alvina Sadat, student of Grade 3 and Abrar Abir, student of Grade 5 played the role of Chief guest and Special Guest respectively. This step was taken to boost up the leadership minds of the students which was highly inspired by Honorable Chairman of Daffodil Family, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan. Daffodil International School has organized the first ever Art Exhibition at their permanent campus in Dhanmondi. It was an exhibition of artistic paintings by talented students. An interactive workshop: “Drawing Cartoon With Fun” was also arranged and conducted by famous cartoonist and Forbes-Asia 2019 30 Under 30 inductee, Morshed Mishu. The exhibition was inaugurated by Honorable Chairman of Daffodil Family, Dr Md. Sabur Khan. Students presented their art works and wonderfully shared their imaginations which became the theme of their paintings.

InterBranch Annual Debate & Extempore Speech Competition 2019

Inter Branch Debate and Extempore Speech Competition 2019-20 was held at Daffodil International School permanent campus on 1 August 2019.

The Competition started at half past 10 in the morning with recitation from the Holy Quran which was followed by the welcoming speech of respected Vice Principal of DIS, Dr Md Masudur Rahman. The competition phase started with the Extempore Speech between students from grades 6 and 7 and then between students of grades 8 to 10. The debate competition followed later where DIS EM Utt played the government and DIS EM Dhn played the opposition role for the motion "Corruption Is The Only Cause Of A Country's Failure."

Students from both sides showed extreme excellence to establish and dismiss the motion. The debate battle ended with a neck to neck fight and was won by DIS EM Utt branch. Tasnim Nawal Rahman, student of grade 8 of DIS EM Dhn, won the best speaker's award.

Honorable Principal of DIS Dhaka, Dr Md Mahmudul Hassan and Liton Abdullah, Regional Development Manager, Pearson Edexcel Bangladesh and Nepal as Chief Guest had their valuable presence at the event.

PTM 2019

Daffodil International School English Medium, Dhanmondi branch organised first Parents Teachers Meeting of 2019-20 session. Students were individually assessed by respective class teachers and respected guardians had a view exchange session with The Honorable Principal of DIS, Dhaka Dr Md Mahmudul Hassan.
