Reflecting on the Day

Routines provide us with soothing structure and foster a sense of self-efficacy and security. Routines make us feel safe. Especially during a time when schedules are changing, new things are happening, or we aren't able to do things or see people we would like to, routines help give us a sense of order as well as awe.*

Before you begin,

take in a deep breath, so deep you fill your lungs completely.

Then slowly let the entire breath out

until your lungs are completely empty.

Repeat twice more.

Then begin your Night Prayers.

Night Prayers

What was the hardest part of your day?

Is there anything for which you need to apologize or say you’re sorry?

Is there someone or something you need to forgive?

What was the best part of your day?

Is there anything you would like to give thanks for?

Let’s pray for ALL of God’s Children, especially for…

...our families, friends, and neighbors, and for those who are alone:

...our community, our nation, and the world:

...those who are hungry, scared, or sad:

...those who are hurting or in harm’s way:

...those who we love, but see no longer:

Is there anyone else you would like to remember in your prayers tonight?

Guide us waking, O Lord, and guard us sleeping;

that awake we may watch with Christ,

and asleep we may rest in peace. AMEN!
