Hello, I am Jessica Kidd. I am ecstatic to be the new music teacher for Dillon Middle School. As I grew up bouncing around the state of Michigan music became a source of comfort and peace for me. It wasn’t a surprise to my educator parents when I went to college to study music.

I went to Brigham Young University-Idaho to study music and theater education. I took a break from school to pursue a dream of performing for Walt Disney World followed by two years in Germany and Austria.

When I returned to Idaho to finish school I also met my college sweetheart. Together, we graduated from BYU-I and started our own journey as educators. We have now been married sixteen years and are the proud parents of five children who are going through the Dillon school system. Hannah 14, Hyrum 12, Brookly 11, Clark 8, and Elizabeth 6.

Through all the kids, I kept up with teaching music. I have been a leader of the children’s choir in church for five years, and a girl scout leader for four years. I was also able to lead a middle school theater club in one town I lived in. When I’m not with my children, or with everyone else’s, I like to garden, sew, crochet, or snuggle up with a good book and a cup of tea.

Practice!!!

Please encourage you budding musician to practice 15 minutes a day. The more they practice the greater their success will be at their performances.
