6th Grade Study Skills

Description: All sixth grade students will attend study skills class each day during 8th period.  This class is designed for students to be given academic assistance when needed, opportunities to learn ways to organize and maintain their class work and homework and make positive connections with peers and adults while working together to complete tasks.  Students will be given opportunities to expand their learning through projects that focus on expanding their knowledge base, curiosity and creativity, as well as supplemental math and reading instruction as needed.  Students will also be provided with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities provided by Mrs. Williams.

Grading:

Grades will be based on weekly planner checks (for the 1st trimester),  coming to class prepared, classroom participation, being on-time for class and student’s classroom behavior.  Students will not have homework from this class or make-up work when they are absent.
