Welcome to Mrs. Curnow's Classroom
Welcome!
Dear Parent(s),
Hello and welcome to a new school year. My name is Alison Curnow and I am very excited to be teaching second again grade this year. Teaching has been my passion for as long as I can remember and I am thrilled to be doing what I love! I graduated college from Montana State University where my education was focused on early childhood development and special education. I spent several years teaching third and fourth grades in Lolo, Montana before beginning my family in 2004. At that point in my life, teaching preschool provided an excellent way to stay active in the profession I love while allowing me the opportunity to spend time with my children. We were surprised with twins in 2011 and I took a five year “break” to stay home and raise my four boys. My boys and their sports schedules keep us pretty busy, but we love to enjoy the outdoors together when we do get a free weekend.
I am really looking forward to a great year in second grade. I will be using different strategies to maximize your child’s growth in all areas. Various resources and materials will be utilized in order to assist us on our journey together. I am a strong believer in utilizing hands-on modalities that facilitate children’s learning. My teaching style reflects my commitment to the success of all students regardless of their aptitude.
I believe that communication is a key component to your child’s academic success. Please feel free to contact me at any time. We are going to have a great year together! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Alison Curnow
