Teacher Biography
Hello!
My name is Andrea Schurg and I am currently serving as the Project AWARE Coordinator for Dillon School District #10. I am a graduate from the University of Montana, where I earned my undergrad degree in Business Information Technology Education and earned my Masters of Education Technology (MET) from Boise State University. I’ve spent my adult years in various positions in education, including teaching business and computer classes to 7th – 12th grades in Class C Winnett, MT; as a technology coach in Lander, Wyomong teaching teachers how to integrate technology into their classrooms; and almost 10 years as an adjunct professor at UM Western in both the Business and Education Departments. I love my current role as the Project AWARE Coordinator, and I have been honored to be able to support all of Dillon’s K-8 students as well as staff members in supporting and maintaining mental wellness.
In addition to working in the schools, my husband, Dennis, and I have been very involved in the BCHS Softball program. I grew up in Portland, Oregon in a softball family, which lead to two of my sisters and I playing at the collegiate level. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed sharing my passion for softball with our daughter, and the many girls we’ve coached over the past twenty-something years. In 2012, we helped raise the necessary funds to start the softball program at Beaverhead High School, and then coached the team until we both “officially” retired from coaching last year.
We have three fur babies (2 labs and a cat), and two adult kids, also graduates from UM.. Go Griz!
