Class Environmental Assessment Process

The study is subject to Ontario's Environmental Assessment Act and is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000).

The project was identified as a Group 'B' project under the Ministry of Transportation's Class EA process. Group 'B' projects potentially have significant impacts on the environment and include major improvements to existing infrastructure.

Upon completion of this study, a Design and Construction Report (DCR) will be prepared to document the details of the recommended design plans, the potential environmental effects, proposed mitigation measures and consultation completed throughout the study. The DCR will build on the commitments made as part of the previously completed Preliminary Design phase.
