HELLO 1ST GRADE PARENTS & STUDENTS! We are very excited and looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and fun!
Here at Dillard Academy, we have high expectations for our students. We want them to do their best, be successful, and have a safe learning environment. It is also important for students to follow all school and classroom expectations. Homework will be sent home each week.

*ELA:
Our class is will be working on the following standards, in ELA, during the 1st nine weeks:
RL.1.1: Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
RL.1.2: Retell stories, including key details, and demonstrte understanding of their central message or lesson.
RL.1.3: Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details.
*SOCIAL STUDIES:
Our class will be working on the following standards, in science, during the 3rd nine weeks:
1.B.1: Understand how culture, values, and beliefs shape people, places, and environments.
1.B.1.1: Identify cultural practices and traditions in local communities and places around the world.
1.C&G.1: Understand how people engage with and participate in the community.
1.C&G.1.1: Exemplify ways individuals and groups play a role in shaping communities.
