India

India's flag was adopted on July 22, 1947, after India became independent from Great Britain.

The saffron: the strength and courage of the country.

The white: peace and truth.

The green band: the fertility, growth, and prosperous land

The "Ashoka Chakra" in the center is the wheel of the law of dharma. The 24 spokes of the Dharma chakra are the representation of the 24 rishis (an accomplished and enlightened person) of the Himalayas.
