Tiger Word of the Month: January
Diversity: Diversity means that people are all different in many ways, like how we look, where we come from, what we like to do, or how we think. It's what makes everyone special and unique!
For example: Looks: Some people have light skin, some have dark skin. Some have straight hair, and others have curly hair.
Languages: Some people speak Spanish, others speak English, French, or even more than one language!
Abilities: Some kids use a wheelchair, while others run super fast. Everyone does things in their own way.
Families: Families can look different. Some have two moms, some have one dad, and some have grandparents living with them.
Interests: Some kids love drawing, while others enjoy sports, dancing, or reading.
Diversity makes the world a more interesting and fun place because we can learn from each other!
Country of the Month: Cuba
Blue stripes: Represent Cuba's original provinces.
White stripes: Symbolize purity and justice.
Red triangle: Stands for strength and the blood sacrificed for independence.
White star: Represents freedom and independence.
Fun Facts:
Largest Caribbean Island: Cuba is the biggest island in the Caribbean and is shaped like a crocodile, which is why locals sometimes call it "El Cocodrilo." 🐊
Classic Cars: Cuba is famous for its old American cars from the 1950s. You'll see colorful vintage cars driving around because importing newer cars was restricted for many years. 🚗
World-Class Cigars: Cuban cigars are considered some of the best in the world and are hand-rolled!
Home of Salsa and Rumba: Cuba is the birthplace of salsa music and dance, along with other exciting rhythms like rumba and mambo. 🎶💃
No Poisonous Animals: Cuba has no dangerous or poisonous animals, making it safe for exploring nature. 🐦🌴
Bee Hummingbird: Cuba is home to the world's smallest bird, the bee hummingbird, which is about the size of a bumblebee! 🐝
Colorful Buildings: Cuban towns are full of colorful colonial-style buildings, making them look like they belong in a storybook. 🌈🏘️
