Keep Realistic Salary Expectations
We have received the information from many students via our placement support page. I am talking to companies on a daily basis, and aware of the salary offered by the companies at the entry level.
I was surprised to see the high salary expectations of few freshers and thought of putting some points for Kind consideration as mentioned:
- Salaries of the freshers are stagnated in most of the industries for last many years. Demand/Supply Gap.
e.g. Campus placed students from Tier II or Tier III colleges get Rs. 25 thousand salaries per month from reputed IT companies.
I also have seen that they almost double the salary within 1-2 years of the work experience. You get paid for your experience and not for potential.
Your current objective should be to get the entry-level job and gain hands-on experience on real-life projects, stay with the company for 1-2 years and later change job to get a big hike in the salary.
I would not be able to present the candidates who are expecting high salaries. I am keeping the expected salary as 'Negotiable' for such students.
We have a candidate who has mentioned 100% hike on the current salary! We need to show more realistic and practical thought-process.
This communication does not apply to our students with industry or some kind of corporate experience.
