1st International Conference on
FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND HIGHER EDUCATION 2023 (FIRHE-2023)
ORGANIZED BY
DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (DUIET), DIBRUGARH, ASSAM, INDIA
About Us
Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering & Technology (A Constituent College of Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh) was established by Dibrugarh University in the year 2009 with due approval from the Government of Assam. The Institute offers four year B.Tech. Program in the branches of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering. All the programs are duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Doctoral programme in Engineering and Technology has already been started from the academic year 2021-22. The Institute has endeavored to provide quality education with the mission of addressing current technological changes around the world.
About FIRHE 2023
The aim of this conference is to provide a platform to the researchers and engineers working on industry revolution and higher education. The concept of 4th Industrial Revolution or "Industry 4.0", was conceptualized in 2011 at the Hannover Fair in Germany to describe how this will revolutionize the organization of global value chains and manufacturing. The Fourth Industrial Revolution urges us to think creatively about the manufacturing process, value chain, distribution and customer service processes. The future of education emphasizes the need to look beyond these areas and utilize the "Internet of Things" to prepare the coming workforce for the challenges ahead. The need for education in general and higher education in particular to be "Place-based" is found to be irrelevant and diminishing day by day. Education is being connected to mobile devices through applications in the cloud and is no longer limited to knowledge but extended to skills acquisition. A mix between MOOCs, which are gaining more and more popularity, and traditional ways of delivering education is extremely vital for meeting the global job markets' needs.
