Mission: 

The mission of the School Library Media Center is to  assist in providing a quality education for every child and to encourage lifelong literacy and learning through reading.  The Library media center will provide an  environment in which students and staff learn to  access, evaluate, and apply information using a  variety of print and electronic formats. The library  media center supports the school’s curriculum and  assists members of the learning community in  becoming effective users of information. 



Goals: To acquire, provide, and preserve access to books (print & digital), and non-print material that best support and enrich the curriculum. To teach library patrons how to find information and evaluate it effectively. To create an educational environment that encourages and advances learning.

Criteria

1. Materials shall meet high standards of quality in factual content, timelessness and presentation. 

2. Materials shall be appropriate for the subject area and for the emotional development, ability level, and social development of the students for whom the materials are selected. 

3. Materials that are recommended by faculty members to support specific course work. 

4. Materials are selected by using selection tools, recommendations from administrators, faculty, staff and students.
