English 2 & U.S. History

Preparing for the STAAR test does NOT have to be boring! We've designed a learning competition that has you and your team earning some pretty cool and tasty prizes!


There are several ways you can win!

Introducing the Teams competing against each other: 

TEAM COMPETITION RULES 

Each student must complete each day's assignments at 70% mastery or better in order for a team to earn points for the week. Students have until the end of the week to complete that week's assignments.

📜🗺 Students will be participating in a TREASURE HUNT during the U.S. History Exploratory Workshop on Thursdays. All points earned at the Exploratory Workshop will be averaged together with their English 2 team scores for the week.

Team  Competitions

Weekly Group Prize = 1 Jack-Buck per student for the team with the most points at the end of the week

⭐Group Tie Breaker : A random student and assignment from the tied teams will be selected for that week, and the highest score on the assignment will break the tie.

Individual Weekly Prize = 1 e-Badge will be earned per student who successfully completes all assignments for that week

e-Badges will be displayed on a Scholar's Certificate at the end of the year that can be used as an attachment for job and college applications

Winning Team = The team with the highest total of points at the end of the 12 weeks will earn a grand prize of 🍿popcorn and a 🎬movie.   📣WINNING TEAM: PURPLE; TOTAL POINTS = 467


Each team will also compete against each other for a grand prize of a pizza party 🍕during Thursday's Exploratory Workshop by solving the clues of a historical treasure map!

The first team who finds the treasure chest by the end of the 13 weeks will win the grand prize + the coveted TREASURE CHEST

Team Tie Breaker : Each team will select a team member to face the other selected team member in a quiz-bowl round of U.S. History knowledge. The team with the highest score at the end of the quiz-bowl will break the tie.
