This residential complex was a challenging commission because (1) the site directly adjacent to the Peninsula commuter train tracks, (2) required open space for a residential project is equal with the 1 acre site area, (3) minimum 80 residential units in maximum 4 story building, (4) entry level rental apartments converted overnight to for sale condos. Vibration and noise from the frequently passing trains, common usable open space design, integration into the residential building, high density quality apartment living and security concerns are some of the top aspects considered in the design for this residential building.
