Here are listed the projects I participated to or I am currently involved in, on behalf of SAPIENZA - Università di Roma.
Full Name: Systematic multidisciplinary approach for remote telemedicine (SMART): A new frontier to promote effective healthcare in type I diabetes and periodontitis patients
Role: WP Leader
Grant value: Financing to Sapienza: 1.325.866,17 €
Funding Institution: FONDO ITALIANO PER LA SCIENZA 2022 – 2023 (BANDO FIS 2)
Description: The goal of this project is to develop a software system that helps Type 1 diabetic patients assess their periodontal risk starting from the orthopanoramic radiographs. The challenge lies in extracting specific features from these radiographs and training predictive models (e.g., CNNs) to evaluate periodontal health by assigning each patient a specific risk level automatically.
