Attending camp for the first time can cause anxiety for both campers and parents. Unfortunately, we cannot allow anyone to tour the site prior to camp. We recommend that parents attend camp opening (the Saturday before Session 1 each year) so that they can see the camp (and help with all the chores necessary to get camp ready for the summer!). If children are old enough to help, they are welcome to attend also.
If you are not able to attend the camp opening work party, we do have some videos that show the Twin Canyon site.
An older Girl Scout created an adult recruitment video for her gold award project. Although it is intended as a recruitment video for adults, but it does show different parts of camp and interviews various campers, elves and staff. Not all sessions offer all activities shown. Most do not host a late night or sleepover.
And, last year, a member of the training committee recorded walking tours of camp. These are intended to help new volunteers get oriented to camp. Although they do not contain people, but they do let you see the different areas in camp.
