DGS Homecoming Carnival
19th - 20th December
Christmas is a time of celebration, where we come together in love to reflect upon the fruits of our hard work in the past year. We gather in gratitude for all we have been blessed with, and look towards the future with hope in our hearts and a renewed spirit.
The annual Mini Bazaar, which will be held on Friday, 19th December, embraces the generosity and warmth of the holiday season as the DGS community reunites for this joyous tradition.
This year, the number of sales stalls continues to be one of the highest ever, with more than 40 items on sale. Students from various clubs, teams and the S4 Companies have each designed unique products to be sold in the Bazaar, and special booths will be set up by the DOGA, the PTA and charity organisations.
To complement the sales stalls, there will be a total of 15 game stalls set up by our junior form classes; which along with a song dedication booth, a bracelet and phone charm booth, and a bouncy castle from our S6 seniors and a special booth from the Red Cross, will provide a variety of exciting entertainment on the day.
The Dance Team will present their self-choreographed programme in the DGS Plaza, elevating the festive ambience within the school campus.
Living out the DGS school motto “Daily Giving Service”, all proceeds of the Mini Bazaar will be donated to the Sheng Kung Hui Act of Love 1126 Fire Disaster Support fund(聖公會心意行動1126火災支援基金)to aid individuals and families affected by the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. This year, we have invited the New Sight Congo, St. Andrew's Church and Helping Hand to join us in this meaningful cause to foster the spirit of peace and love by setting up stalls at the Mini Bazaar.
We are also excited to announce that the DGS Metaverse, a one-of-a-kind experience for students and alumni alike from all across the globe to explore, will expand to an even larger scale in its third year. The Metaverse features not just exclusive products designed by technology-related clubs and teams, but also virtual games designed by junior form students, as well as an immersive historical element incorporating the virtual old DGS campus. This celebrates the fruition of the innovative ideas and diligent efforts of our community, showcasing the tangible results of our endeavours in the technological field.
We look forward to welcoming you all to our Mini Bazaar this year. May all be blessed with contentment and happiness this Christmas season.
